Proposal: Excluding the AfD from the parliamentary group in the European Parliament
The person in charge of the right-wing ID group in the European Parliament wants to kick out all members from the AfD political party. A newspaper obtained this information from the German News Agency. The AfD party attempted to prevent this situation by expelling Maximilian Krah, but it wasn't enough.
The whole AfD group is supposed to leave the Identity and Democracy Group in the European Parliament, says a report acquired by dpa. The request comes from the group's leader. The reason for this move is due to comments made by Maximilian Krah, the main candidate for the upcoming election. The party attempted to stop the request by removing Krah from their parliamentary group. Krah's actions allegedly caused "disunity and harm to the reputation" of the parliamentary group, as stated in a letter from the delegation chair, Christine Anderson, to the group's executive committee, which was shared with ntv.
In an email conversation within the group, the Belgian far-right party Vlaams Belang and some Italian Lega MPs demanded that the entire AfD delegation be expelled from the parliamentary group. Former French right-wing populists made a similar request on Tuesday, terminating their cooperation with the AfD in the European Parliament.
This development began with Krah's dismissive remarks about the SS leaders of the top candidate. These actions aren't justification enough for expelling all AfD MEPs, write Anderson in a letter to the group's executive committee.
The "Welt" newspaper was the first to report on the exclusion of Krah. It's currently supported by seven of the nine AfD members. The party's leadership in Berlin has been notified, according to the letter, and neither Krah nor the party's leadership would talk about this situation.

The request for the AfD group's exclusion from the Identity and Democracy Group in the European Parliament is supported by seven of its members, following Krah's dismissive remarks. This move could potentially lead to the expulsion of the entire AfD delegation, as suggested by some factions within the group.
