Probable Discovery of Gold Papers linked to AfD Politician Bystron by Investigators

For a while now, there have been allegations against AfD politician Bystron. Last week, searches were conducted at his home. The authorities apparently found evidence of gold bars and accounts connected to a Bundestag member. Bystron insists he can explain everything.

According to a report in the German newspaper "Welt", they discovered serial numbers of gold bars, cash in envelopes, and financial statements from the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein in Bystron's Berlin residence. Bystron claims these items come from his mother's accounts.

Bystron is currently being probed for bribery and money laundering charges. Die Welt says he talked to them about the finds, but many of the valuables belong to his mom.

When Deutsche Presse-Agentur asked Bystron for his thoughts on the matter, they never got a response. Bystron is ranked second on the AfD list for the European elections.

Earlier, a Czech newspaper claimed that Bystron may have gotten payments from the pro-Russian online platform "Voice of Europe" (VoE). However, he denies these allegations.

During a search at Bystron's Wannsee home, the police found gold bar serial numbers weighing 500 grams and one kilogram. Bystron told Welt that the documents were for his mother's accounts: "I maintain these because I'm her court-appointed guardian. My mom owned a dental clinic in Switzerland for years, acquired everything legally, and I keep the proof. These records even include closed Liechtenstein account statements."

Bystron also revealed that his Czech account transactions, for which there were also discovered statement, were all 100% honest. They're from rental income and expenses from properties in the Czech Republic that he and his wife have owned for over twenty years.

The Munich public prosecutor's office is investigating these claims but wouldn't share any information on it. The office has previously searched Bystron's other properties, including his parliamentary office.
