Prison time given for sexual act inside a Bavarian church.
July 2022 saw a couple scandalize a Bavarian church by engaging in explicit acts on the altar. The aftermath resulted in a priest having to re-consecrate the altar. The man involved is now facing a significant prison term, primarily due to his previous committing fraud.
The couple's actions in a Rosenheim church initiated mass media coverage. The Traunstein District Court has officially condemned the male offender to a significant prison sentence, detailing a total of five years and five months.
Remarkably, the "desecration of religious practice" penalty was offset by a shorter sentence already decided in conjunction with his fraud charges. A spokeswoman for the court confirmed the ruling.
The primary reason for the man's extended incarceration stems from his multiple fraudulent practices during his job as a campsite warden. An investigation into 20 cases uncovered instances where he defrauded tenants of the campsite over 400,000 euros. The defrauded funds were subsequently seized by the court.
His name in the news came from the fact that he had sex with a 39-year-old co-defendant in the Catholic church of Schechen in July 2022, even going as far as taking pictures, while his companion had already accepted the penalties. Unfortunately, the specifics of her sentence remain private, as summary penalty orders are not publicly accessible. Before Christmas of the same year, the local priest administered the altar using incense and holy water for the sake of the incident.
