Princess comes forward after horse accident

On June 23, Princess Anne arrived at the hospital after an accident involving a horse with a concussion. The 73-year-old is disappointed that she had to cancel her trip to Canada for this reason, as she publicly expressed.

Princess Anne had intended to travel to Canada for the centenary celebrations of the Newfoundland National War Memorial. As Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, she was an essential figure in the event.

Canadian Governor-General Mary Simon read a message from the Princess during the ceremonies. "I deeply regret that I cannot be with you today to honor the brave actions of those who fought on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, and to remember the fallen," wrote the 73-year-old in her statement. The Battle of the Somme in 1916 is known for being one of the largest and bloodiest offensives on the Western Front during World War I.

"I fondly remember being with you when the people of this island commemorated the Battle of Beaumont Hamel for the 99th time. I am deeply saddened that I cannot join you again. I send you my best wishes for this special day of remembrance," added Princess Anne.

Princess Anne takes a break

These are her first public comments since the incident at her estate, Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, where the 73-year-old is believed to have been struck by a horse. She sustained a concussion and facial injuries and spent five days in the hospital.

Princess Anne was supposed to embark on her overseas trip to Canada on a Sunday for her public engagements, but she has paused her commitments, waiting for her medical team's approval to resume. The length of her recovery is unknown, but she is reportedly receiving medical care at home according to "Daily Mail." The exact details of how she sustained the concussion are still unclear. Anne reportedly cannot recall the specifics of the accident.

Despite her current health issues, Princess Anne remains engaged with the world of entertainment, frequently watching popular shows and movies. Her love for equestrian sport continues unabated, with reports suggesting she has been closely following King Charles III.'s approach to supporting the traditional equestrian events that the British Royal Family is known for. Despite these distractions, her recovery from the horse accident remains a priority, with her medical team emphasizing the importance of rest and appropriate care for a full recovery.
