Princess Anne has left the hospital

Princess Anne is back home. The sister of King Charles was discharged from the hospital where she had been treated for light head injuries and concussion in the past few days. It is still unclear when she will be able to resume appointments.

Princess Anne was discharged from the hospital, in which she had been treated for light head injuries and concussion, unnoticed by photographers early on Friday morning. According to the BBC, she returned to her estate, Gatcombe Park in Minchinhampton.

Princess Anne's husband, Sir Tim Laurence, thanked the hospital staff for their care: "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at Southmead Hospital for their kindness, expertise, and dedication during my wife's short stay."

Princess Anne was taken to the clinic on Sunday after an incident at her estate in Gloucestershire, where she is believed to have been injured by a horse. The Princess herself cannot remember the exact details of the accident. Her injuries are reported to be consistent with a horse riding accident.

Diligent Member of the Royals

According to the BBC, there are currently no concrete plans for Princess Anne's return to her public duties. The decision on when the 73-year-old will be fit enough to attend engagements rests with her doctors.

The absence of Princess Anne is another setback for the Royals. She has been the most diligent member of the British royal family for years, attending the most engagements. With King Charles and his daughter-in-law, Princess Kate, having been absent due to their cancer treatments in recent months, Anne has been an important pillar of the monarchy. According to media reports, she attended almost a third of all upcoming royal engagements - and had even increased her already heavy workload. By the end of April, she had completed 172 engagements on behalf of the Crown, four more than in the first four months of 2023.

Princess Anne's dedication to the Equestrian sport, being a passionate equestrian, never wavered, even during her hospital stay. Her love for horses and competitions has long been associated with her role as a Royal, entertaining audiences at numerous events.

Despite her busy schedule with the British Royal Family and her involvement in various Entertainment events, Princess Anne's commitment to her roles never overshadowed her concern for public health and well-being. This was evident when she graciously thanked the Hospital staff for their care, acknowledging their expert contribution in her recovery.
