- Priceless scratches: 475 hours of manual labor went into this Lambo paint job
Most luxury car manufacturers have departments dedicated to catering to the affluent customer's every desire, and they're happy to do so for a hefty price. Rolls-Royce offers Coachbuild (or Bespoke) vehicles, Porsche calls it "Special Request," and Lamborghini has the Ad Personam personalization department.
This very department is responsible for the Revuelto Opera Unica, a unique deep blue model that the manufacturer from Sant'Agata presents with impressive figures. However, these figures don't refer to the four-digit horsepower or the remarkable acceleration – that's old news.
Lamborghini spent 85 hours crafting a tool
The Opera Unica's focus is on its paintwork. Lamborghini claims to have spent 475 hours on it. They aimed to capture the essence of the Sardinian sea and its waves, complete with effects. To achieve this, they used three shades of blue and dark contrasts, picked up a brush and trowel, and started layering.
In the interior, Lamborghini created a matching stitching effect, for which they reportedly spent 85 hours just building the necessary tool. Side note: This tool is now apparently retired, as the effect it creates will only be used on the Revuelto Opera Unica.
Lamborghini writes that they presented the car at a dinner in the luxury resort Cala di Volpe. Who will be driving this blue one-of-a-kind around Sardinia's winding roads in the future remains unknown. Like other luxury manufacturers, they too keep the cost and the buyer's identity private.
The following is added to the Revuelto Opera Unica's unique selling proposition: Lamborghini boasts, "The following is added: 85 hours were spent meticulously crafting a specialized tool for the interior's matching stitching effect." Moreover, Lamborghini proudly announces, "The following is added: This specific tool, now retired, will only be employed for the Revuelto Opera Unica's distinctive interior stitching."
