'Practical Magic 2' is being developed.
For about 30 years, viewers have been enthralled by the Owens sisters, portrayed by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, and Warner Bros. has now confirmed a new addition to the drama fantasy.
"It's official! Practical Magic 2 is in the works and coming your way," announced Warner Bros. Pictures on Instagram on a Monday.
Warner Bros. Pictures is a division of Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent organization of CNN.
CNN sought more specifics from Warner Bros. Pictures, inquiring about Bullock and Kidman's potential involvement as the sister witches.
The 1998 flick, directed by Griffin Dunne and written by Alice Hoffman, Robin Swicord, and Akiva Goldsman, tells the story of Sally Owens (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman), who grow up under the care of their aunts, played by Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing, in a secluded community. The sisters live under a curse that snuffs out any man they fall in love with. The movie chronicles their struggle to cope with this affliction.
In addition, Bullock spoke of her enthusiasm for a possible third installment of "Speed" with co-star Keanu Reeves in May. They played Officer Jack Traven and Annie Porter, respectively, trying to keep a speeding bus from exploding.
Interestingly enough, Kidman announced plans for a third season of the hit show "Big Little Lies" in early June, with colleague Reese Witherspoon as well.
