Roland Kaiser in Erfurt - Pop star next to the Pope in the Golden Book
Under the slogan "50 Years - 50 Hits," Schlager icon Roland Kaiser (72) is currently on his grand tour for his 50th stage anniversary. Tonight, he will fire the fireworks of his greatest hits at the Domplatz of the Thuringian state capital Erfurt. Before that, Obermeister Andreas Bausewein (51, SPD) of Erfurt invited him to the town hall's banquet hall, where the singer entered the Golden Book of the City.

The ceremonial event was opened by the mayor, according to "Thueringen 24," with light-hearted words. "The first one to register was the Pope," said Bausewein. "Then presidents, Olympic champions, kings... and now, of course, the Kaiser." Roland Kaiser, who is also an SPD member, was moved and replied loudly to "Bild" newspaper: "Thank you for this invitation and honor. This city owes you a lot as mayor."
On Instagram, Kaiser raved: "I have arrived well in Erfurt and could register in the Golden Book of the City. What an honor!" For him, it goes straight to the concert venue.
"I don't even think about stopping"
According to "Bild," he left the following message in the Golden Book: "I wish all citizens of Erfurt happiness and eternal peace." On the sidelines of the ceremony, Kaiser looked hopeful and said he wanted to give many more concerts. "I don't even think about stopping, that's not an option for me," so the singer. "My children are all grown up. I love what I do and am healthy - so I'll keep going!"
