Cult band on tour - Pearl Jam cancel Berlin concerts due to illness
Seattle-based Grunge Band Pearl Jam have cancelled their two concerts at the Waldbühne in Berlin. "We regret to inform you that the Pearl Jam concerts on Tuesday, July 2nd, and Wednesday, July 3rd, in Berlin have been cancelled," the musicians from Seattle announced on their website and X platform (local time on Sunday). No make-up date has been planned, and fans with tickets will be refunded.
The reason for the cancellation was health issues within the band: "Despite all efforts, the band has not yet fully recovered," according to their statement. The rockers gave no further details.
According to media reports, frontman Eddie Vedder struggled with vocal problems during their last performance in Manchester on the previous Tuesday. A few days later, the cancellation of their London show was announced due to "illness in the band".
Pearl Jam is currently touring Europe, the United States, and Australia to promote their newest album "Dark Matter". The two Berlin concerts were the only Germany shows of their world tour. According to the band's website, the next performances are scheduled for July 6th and 8th in Barcelona.
