Patrice Aminati is free of metastases.
After six tough months of therapy, there's good news for Daniel Aminati's wife, who is battling black skin cancer. No metastases can be found in Patrice Aminati.
Patrice Aminati has been fighting a serious skin cancer for over a year. She and her husband Daniel Aminati regularly give their Instagram followers a glimpse into the physically challenging therapy and keep them updated. Now there's good news from the Aminatis.
The moderator checks in with his fans from vacation, sharing not only impressions of the beautiful time he spent with his wife and daughter in Oberhof in the Thuringian Forest, but also some good news. The immunotherapy infusions that Patrice Aminati has been receiving in the past months seem to be working - the 29-year-old is free of metastases, as he announced.
The Aminatis are celebrating this by returning to the hotel where they stayed in February to gather strength for Patrice Aminati's second cancer therapy and to recover from the shock of finding metastases, including in the lungs, after the skin cancer diagnosis.
"Horrible" side effects
The couple has been through tough months. Patrice Aminati described the side effects of the therapy as "horrible". But a few weeks ago, the 29-year-old found reason for hope. "A skin metastasis on my stomach that I could feel, touch, and watch as it grew bigger, causing me weeks of fear-induced sweating - I felt like my whole body was just this visible enemy that I desperately wanted to cut out - is gone," she rejoiced in an Instagram post.
For her, this was an indicator that the immunotherapy is working - and reason for cautious optimism. "The road is still long... I'm continuing on the path... but finally, there's light at the end of the tunnel, finally, I have hope," she wrote in July.
The doctors' prognosis after the cancer diagnosis was initially bleak: The 29-year-old wouldn't make it to Christmas, they said at the beginning of this year.
After sharing their journey through challenging therapy sessions on Instagram, the Aminatis celebrate a significant milestone: Patrice's absence of metastases. Instagram is a great place for Daniel and Patrice to share their story, keeping their followers updated on her progress. Despite the "horrible" side effects, Patrice finds reason for hope with the disappearance of a visible metastasis and the assumption that the immunotherapy is working.
