Party attendees on Sylt openly shout "Foreigners leave!"

Whitsun on Sylt: Revelers kick off the season on the North Sea island, including at the "Pony" in Kampen. But a video captures disturbing behavior: Various vacationers yell xenophobic chants - and it doesn't seem to bother anyone. On the contrary.

A video circulating on social media shows young folks hollering hateful slogans outside a pub on the North Sea island of Sylt has caused a wave of outrage. The "Pony" eatery in Kampen denounced these guests on Friday night and proclaimed punitive measures.

In a brief video that has been making the rounds on social media since Thursday, young men and women shout "Get rid of foreigners" and "Germany for Germans" to the tune of the dance hit "L'amour Toujours" by Gigi D'Agostini. One man appears to form a Hitler beard on his upper lip with his fingers.

One of the young women participating in the cacophony, with sunglasses in her hair and a white blouse, filmed the scene. The bystanders are singing and swaying, holding glasses filled with drinks. No one seemed to mind the slogans.

The owners of the pub stated on Instagram that they were "deeply appalled" by the video. "We reject any kind of racism and discrimination." If they had known about the situation, "we would have undoubtedly ejected the guests. There is no room for racism!!!", they wrote. Any guest, regardless of their ethnicity, is welcomed here. The individuals responsible would be forbidden from the premises, they stated.

In another post, the pub operators expressed that they have now learned the identities of "these Nazis." "We will report this disgusting conduct and use all criminal law options!!!"

The Berlin SPD politician Sawsan Chebli expressed on Platform X that night: "'Germany for Germans. Foreigners out. Foreigners out.' Venue: Sylt. And they feel safe." TV presenter Jan Böhmermann inquired, "Who are these individuals?" And host Dunja Hayali tweeted: "With Hitler beards and bubbly, but without 'foreigners.' #Sylt. 2024."

The "Pony" restaurant is one of the trendiest eateries on the North Sea island of Sylt. According to the "Bild" paper, the cost of admission alone was 150 euros over the Whitsun weekend in question - drink prices excluded. The pub is a gathering spot for many celebrities and is particularly popular with the offspring of wealthy Sylt guests.

Unfortunately, these displays of racism seem to be gaining international attention and acceptance, as seen in the video circulating on social media.
