Pamela Anderson reveals the reason for her new look
Pamela Anderson has revealed why she no longer wears make-up. She didn't want to make a statement with it - it was about being "real". She explained this to "The Daily Telegraph". The "Baywatch" icon caused a stir at Fashion Week in Paris this year by presenting herself without make-up in the front row. In a video interview with French magazine "Vogue", she revealed that she wanted to focus on the clothes at Fashion Week in Paris and therefore decided to do without make-up.
Fellow actresses such as Scarlett Johansson and Jamie Lee Curtis praised Anderson for her courage. "The natural beauty revolution has officially begun," wrote Curtis on Instagram, commenting on photos of Pamela Anderson in Paris. Scarlett Johansson spoke of a "strong message" in an interview with "Popsugar."
Anderson never thought that her "no make-up" look would get so much attention. "I wear no make-up at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week," she told People magazine. "I really didn't know anyone would notice," said Anderson. However, she said she was happy about the positive message she was able to send with her appearance.
"I just had to be myself"
The motivation to stop wearing make-up in future is apparently also linked to her makeover show "Pamela's Garden of Eden". It is said that she wanted to show her fans her true face: "I didn't want it to be fake and artificial. I just had to be myself, it was crying out to come out of me," the 56-year-old explained according to media reports. It was liberating for her to show who she really was and is.
Performing naturally had started to be fun for Pamela Anderson. Since then, she has enjoyed attending events without make-up. "It wasn't meant to be a statement," says the actress. "I looked in the mirror and said to myself: 'You're almost 60, that's good enough, just enjoy Paris and don't play the game'."
Pamela Anderson's decision to forgo makeup during Fashion Week in Paris inspired fellow actress Jamie Lee Curtis to declare, "The natural beauty revolution has officially begun," on Instagram. In an interview with "People" magazine, Anderson shared that her motivation to embrace her natural look was influenced by her makeover show "Pamela's Garden of Eden," stating, "I just had to be myself, it was crying out to come out of me."
