Palace: Princess Kate visits Wimbledon-Finale
Princess Kate to Make Second Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis at Wimbledon
Princess Kate is scheduled to make her second public appearance since her cancer diagnosis at the Wimbledon tennis tournament. The Kensington Palace in London announced that she will attend the men's final on Sunday. The daughter-in-law of King Charles III. had been absent from public engagements for some time following her diagnosis, but she made her first appearance since then at the Trooping the Colour military parade in London in mid-June.
Princess Kate, who is married to the British heir apparent Prince William, is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and has attended the tournament frequently in the past. She shares her love for tennis with her younger sister Pippa Middleton. Pippa and her husband James Mattheas watched the semifinals on Friday. It was her first public appearance since her sister's cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
Pippa wore a stylish, floral jumpsuit by designer Claire Mischevani for her Wimbledon visit, creating a summery yet elegant look. She paired her outfit with a woven clutch, subtle silver jewelry, and a large, brown sunglasses. She wore her hair down.
Second Appearance since Cancer Diagnosis
Sunday will mark the second public appearance for Kate since her long absence. Novak Djokovic, the Serbian record-breaking Grand Slam champion, and Carlos Alcaraz, the Spanish title defender, will face off in the men's final. Kate underwent surgery in her abdomen in January, and in March, she revealed in a video that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
Her father-in-law, Charles, is also being treated for cancer but has been active on engagements for some time. The royal family has not disclosed which types of cancer they are dealing with.
Pippa Middleton joined her sister, Princess Kate, in supporting tennis at Wimbledon, following Kate's second public appearance since her cancer diagnosis. Catherine, the Princess of Wales, demonstrated her shared love for tennis with Pippa, as they both attended the prestigious tournament.
