- Operates in the realm of ambiguity.
In January, acting legend Nicole Eggert (52), former star of "Baywatch," shared that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2023. Currently, she's feeling "good" once more, as she shared with "People" magazine. "I'm sort of in a limbo, I've completed my treatment, just waiting for additional tests and hopefully surgery," she mentioned at the "After Baywatch: Moment in The Sun" premiere in Los Angeles on August 26th.
What made Nicole Eggert's journey particularly challenging
During her interview, Eggert also opened up about the most challenging aspect of her recent months. "You spend a lot of time waiting, and that's something I wasn't really aware of and no one really discusses," she expressed. "But the limbo is the hardest, because you never know what's happening. When I'm in treatment, I feel like I'm accomplishing something."
The waiting was particularly "pesky", she admitted. She found solace in "a lot of meditation." She also sought help from a shaman. "I'll do whatever I can, whatever I can do. Whether I take a walk or meditate - I'll try anything to distract myself," Eggert said as she attended the LA premiere with short platinum blonde hair.
Her primary source of motivation
Her daughters Dilyn (25) and Keegan (13) played a significant role in keeping Eggert's spirits up. They handled the diagnosis "pretty well" and gave her no special treatment. "They kept things lively. And I really loved that about both of them. Both acted like nothing was changing. As if the days would just carry on as usual," she shared.
Additionally, the new "Baywatch" documentary series, in which Eggert featured and co-produced, served as a "great diversion." "It served as a strong incentive for me, not just to focus on my health. It gave me a reason," she added.
Nicole Eggert portrayed the character of lifeguard Summer Quinn in the TV series "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1994. She also appeared in the TV movie "Baywatch - Wedding in Hawaii" in 2003. The documentary series "After Baywatch" features former stars of the cult series, with previously unseen behind-the-scenes material revealed.
Despite the waiting period being the hardest part of her cancer journey, Nicole Eggert found motivation in tackling it with various distractions such as meditation and seeking help from a shaman. Her primary source of support and motivation came from her daughters Dilyn and Keegan, who handled the diagnosis with resilience and kept things lively, allowing them to continue as usual.
