Oliver Pocher gives ex Amira a broadside
After the separation crisis, Oliver Pocher is now continuing his former couple podcast with his ex-wife Alessandra "Sandy" Meyer-Wölden. The first episode of "Die Pochers - frisch recycelt" has now been published on the Podimo platform.
Oliver Pocher begins by explaining the continuation of the podcast: "We know that this podcast would normally take place with Amira and I would talk to her as normal. Then the events overtook us a bit, or me in particular, so I had to look at what to do and how to continue."
The podcast is an important component of his activities, explains Oliver Pocher, which is why he didn't want to give up the format. The platform operator, on the other hand, "still wanted a man-woman constellation, because that also includes a lot of topics". Addressing Meyer-Wölden, Oliver Pocher jokes: "Then I could go through the ex-wives. And before you knew it, I asked you if you wouldn't like to do it, not just as a temp." However, he also believes that his new podcast partner has "one or two interesting things" to say.
"That's how we're sitting here today"
The whole thing was a surprise for her, Meyer-Wölden reveals. "I was aware of the situation, of course." After she and Oliver Pocher had spoken on the phone several times in recent weeks, he finally asked her if she wanted to take part in the project. "And so here we are today. It's not an easy situation, not even for me, as I'm naturally also a family person and I'm friends with Amira and we've had this patchwork constellation for years," admits the 40-year-old.
It was also difficult because the podcast was the joint "baby" of Oliver and Amira Pocher. "I was also a fan and listener." Although it was obvious to keep the podcast in the family, this was not easy.
It wasn't planned "that we're going to do the big pay-off podcast here now", Oliver Pocher asserts, adding: "I really have to say that Amira played a big part in getting this patchwork thing going again." Meyer-Wölden also has words of praise for her successor at her ex-husband's side. Amira Pocher is a great person and reached out to her back then. "She stood up for us so that we could get on the right track and make peace. I will never forget that."
"Amira is still a friend of mine"
Meyer-Wölden emphasizes that she has no malicious intentions with the podcast either. "Amira is still a friend of mine. I also assured her before we started the project and I agreed that I didn't want to take any shots at her. It's not my intention at all to badmouth anyone."
Meyer-Wölden suspects that the headlines about the break-up have caused the situation to get "a little out of control". Now they have to try to protect their five children above all else. "I think we will also stick together as a family," she explains. The most important thing now is to "avoid a war of the roses". After all, the greatest gift for Oliver and Amira Pocher are their "beautiful children, who I also love very much. It's about acting as role models. And time heals all pain." As she says this, Meyer-Wölden seems to be fighting back tears.
She is proud of him, she tells Oliver Pocher, because he has "opened up so much" since his love break-up with Amira and has also shown a "softer and more emotional" side of himself. "And shared your feelings for once." The comedian publicly admitted the pain of his break-up at the end of September and declared that he had "failed as a spouse".
"Awesome story"
In the podcast, Oliver Pocher draws a parallel between his two failed marriages. Both women had just turned 30 when the relationships broke down. In both cases, there had been two pregnancies beforehand. And the children were also of a similar age at the time of each separation. "Why do I have to get two pregnancies off the ground first, only to find myself alone again two years later and start all over again - why is that?" asks Oliver Pocher, while Meyer-Wölden explains that she finds such comparisons difficult: "A break-up like that didn't happen overnight for us either, and it didn't happen overnight for you either. There were problems that I could also understand, who could understand it better than me."
In the end, Oliver Pocher can't resist giving his wife Amira another broadside. If someone had told him a year ago that she was now living in the house opposite and was "having fun with another guy" who was "spouting fortune cookie wisdom", Oliver Pocher would probably have said: "Great story, have another drink, have a nice evening."
Rumors have been circulating for almost two weeks that Amira Pocher has already entered into a new relationship with a motivational coach. However, the two have denied this via a public lawyer's letter.
Oliver Pocher and Alessandra Meyer-Wölden will also be appearing on stage together with the podcast. They will make a live appearance in Cologne on November 24.
Oliver Pocher and Meyer-Wölden were married from 2010 to 2014 and have a daughter (13) and twin boys (12). The wedding bells rang for the comedian and Amira Pocher in 2019. The two had two sons (2 and 3). They confirmed their separation at the end of August 2023.
In light of his ongoing entertainment career, Oliver Pocher often discusses celebrity couples and their relationships on his podcast. With his ex-wife Alessandra "Sandy" Meyer-Wölden as a guest, they often delve into the ups and downs of celebrity relationships.
Following their separation, Amira Pocher has also ventured into the world of entertainment, often appearing on various talk shows and discussing her personal life. Her newfound fame in the entertainment industry has made her a topic of discussion on Oliver's podcast, as well.
