Oasis reunited in this fashion.
It's shocking, isn't it, that after 15 long years, Liam and Noel Gallagher are apparently mending fences and planning an Oasis comeback? True as it may seem, they've supposedly put their differences aside over a call. They may not be back to being the best of friends, but they're keen on reviving Oasis for their fans. Age is catching up with them, and the demand for their music is immense. They've made up their minds: now or never.
This is creating quite a stir in the music world. According to the British tabloid, 'The Sun', their reconciliation happened over late-night chats.
A source close to the situation told 'The Sun': "Noel and Liam will never be best buddies again, but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans. They're not getting any younger, and the demand is massive. They've decided: now or never." Initially, Noel was hesitant, but after a heart-to-heart with Liam, he agreed to the reunion. The brothers realize that "this reunion will be etched in music history."
Liam gave a hint of this development during his performance at the Reading Festival last weekend. He played Oasis's hit song "Half The World Away" and dedicated it to "Noel freaking Gallagher." After his set, he announced a major announcement for August 27th.
The Split in 2009
The infamous feud between the Gallagher brothers is a legendary tale in music history. Oasis, formed in 1991, is hailed as the most successful Britpop band ever, but is also infamous for the rivalry between Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Disagreements between the two dominated headlines throughout the band's existence. In 1994, Noel reportedly left the band temporarily after Liam threw a tambourine at him. Year after year, cracks in the band's foundation deepened due to digs - until the big split in 2009.
On the day of the band's final dissolution, they were set to perform at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris when a fight broke out between the two brothers, with Liam allegedly swinging Noel's guitar like an axe. Consequently, their performance was canceled, and the entire tour, along with the band's end, was announced. "With some sadness and great relief, I must tell you that I have left Oasis tonight. People can write and say what they want, but I could not work with Liam any longer," Noel said, according to 'The Sun', at the time of the split.
No Shows in Germany
Since then, fans have been waiting for an epic Oasis reunion, which might finally become a reality, if all goes smoothly. The website states, "Oasis has put an end to years of speculation and confirmed the much-anticipated concerts in the UK and Ireland, which will kick off the 'OASIS LIVE '25' world tour." Oasis is set to perform in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin in the summer of 2025.
"Given that these are their only shows in Europe next year, this will be one of the biggest live events of the decade," the statement continues. Future performances in other continents are planned for 2025. It's not yet clear who else will join the Gallagher brothers in the band, as none of the original members were on board when Oasis split in 2009.
This potential Oasis comeback is generating significant interest in the pop music scene. As reported by 'The Sun', the brothers' reconciliation includes a shared desire to reunite for their fans, acknowledging the immense demand for their music.
Their mutual decision is a testament to the enduring popularity of their hit song "Half The World Away", as evidenced by Liam's dedication during his Reading Festival performance.
