"Kaulitz & Kaulitz" - No major success in the USA
"Kaulitz & Kaulitz" is creating quite a buzz. Since June 25th, the docu-reality soap of Tokio Hotel twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz (34) has been streaming on Netflix and has already caused quite a few headlines. In Germany and Austria, the series reached the number one spot on the streaming charts. However, the big success in non-German speaking countries has yet to materialize.
One Million Streams
As reported by "Quotenmeter", the eight episodes, which offer a glimpse into the lives of the musicians, did not represent a triumph for the US streaming service in the first week. Between June 24th and 30th, Netflix recorded 5.9 million streaming hours with a rounded-off total of one million views. The series has a runtime of six hours and twelve minutes.
In Switzerland, "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" managed to reach the second place on the charts, and in Luxembourg it even made it to the fourth place. However, further Top Ten placements in non-German speaking countries remained elusive, despite Tokio Hotel's huge success outside of Germany and the involvement of Heidi Klum (51) as an international celebrity. In the worldwide non-English language TV charts, it still managed to reach the tenth place.
Other Docs are Ahead
The one million streams represent a moderate success. For example, the fourth season of the Brazilian version of the reality show "Love Is Blind" achieved two million views and the international second place in the charts in its first week. The US docs "Worst Roommate Ever" (season two) and "America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" gathered 5.7 million and 3.7 million views, respectively, in the past week.
Despite the modest success in non-German speaking countries, Bill and Tom Kaulitz's docu-reality series, "Kaulitz & Kaulitz," has made a significant impact in Austria, where it reached the top spot on the streaming charts.
The series has also gained popularity in Germany, securing the number one position on the streaming charts there as well.
The Twins' involvement with international celebrity Heidi Klum hasn't led to substantial success in non-German speaking countries yet, but the series still managed to reach the tenth place in the worldwide non-English language TV charts.
Fans of Tokio Hotel in the USA might be looking forward to streaming "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" on Netflix, as it hasn't yet reached the same level of popularity in the US as in Germany and Austria.
The docu-reality series, although not reaching the top spots in non-German speaking countries, is still being watched and appreciated by a substantial number of spectators, as indicated by the one million streams in its first week on Netflix.
If you're a fan of Bill and Tom Kaulitz or just enjoy watching reality shows, you might want to add "Kaulitz & Kaulitz" to your Netflix watchlist, as the series continues to stream on the platform.
