Nicole Eggert discusses the most challenging aspect of her cancer experience

In December 2023, actress Nicole Eggert, famously known for her role in "Baywatch," was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, she's openly discussing her illness and the most challenging aspect after her treatment completion. Speaking at the premiere of "After Baywatch: Moment in The Sun" in Los Angeles, Eggert mentioned, "I'm in this in-between stage, finished with treatments, but waiting for further tests and possibly surgery."

During the interview, Eggert highlighted the most challenging part of her journey: the waiting period. "You spend a lot of time waiting, and that aspect wasn't something I was fully aware of, nor is it often discussed," she explained. Through this period, she felt most productive when undergoing treatment.

Waiting, in her opinion, proved to be "frustrating." Meditation and consulting a shaman, along with other distractions, helped her cope. "Whether I go for a walk or meditate, I try to distract myself from the wait," Eggert mentioned, joining the L.A. premiere with a new platinum blonde haircut. She had shaved her head herself as a preparation for her cancer treatments in February.

Her strongest motivations

Her daughters, Dilyn and Keegan, supported her throughout. Eggert appreciated their ability to manage well without treating her differently. "They both handled it amazingly. They carried on as if nothing was out of the ordinary, as if life would continue just as usual," she shared.

Working on the new "Baywatch" documentary series became her "great distraction." Co-producing the project was a significant motivation, helping her to focus on something other than her health. "It provided me with a sense of purpose, preventing me from dwelling on my health concerns," Eggert expressed.

Actress Nicole Eggert portrayed the character of lifeguard Summer Quinn in the TV series "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1994. She reprised her role in the TV movie "Baywatch - Wedding in Hawaii" in 2003. The documentary series "After Baywatch" features former stars from the series, with previously unseen backstage materials.

The entertainment industry rallied around Nicole Eggert during this difficult time, offering her support and sharing in her strength. The upcoming documentary series "After Baywatch" serves as a testament to her resilience and her continued commitment to her beloved role as Summer Quinn.

Despite the waiting period being the most challenging aspect of her journey, Nicole found solace in the production of "After Baywatch." The opportunity to co-produce and share behind-the-scenes stories brought a renewed sense of purpose to her life.
