Nico Santos has become a father
Nico Santos usually keeps his private life quiet in public. However, in an RTL interview, the singer has now confirmed the birth of his first child. In addition, he reveals whether he is experiencing sleep deprivation as a young father.
Nico Santos and his wife Aileen have been married since summer 2022. In October of the previous year, the singer and music producer announced on Instagram that the first addition to their family was on the way. This news was not entirely voluntary. "We are expecting family growth. We would have liked to keep this news for ourselves, but many had already found out from other media that came before us," he wrote at the time in relation to pregnancy rumors that were already circulating. Santos stated then that he "wanted to be especially present for the family during this time" and therefore had to postpone his tour from spring 2024 to the fall.
However, Santos kept the birth of his child a secret until now. But in an interview with RTL, the 31-year-old confirmed that he had become a father. He did not reveal the gender or name, but he did talk about the fact that he is not currently suffering from the typical sleep deprivation of young parents. "Since I have a family, or founded a family, things are going very, very well with sleeping." This could change quickly, "but so far everything is still very relaxed."
It may also help him that he usually slept for only "three to four hours" per night before the arrival of the child.
Nico Santos was a bit more chatty last year when he talked about his relationship with Aileen and the wedding in an interview with the news agency spot on news. He described it as an absolute highlight of the last years. "On the one hand, it went quickly because we have been together for three years, but on the other hand, it feels very familiar to me because we have known each other for over ten years," he said. "We complement each other well, are similar in many ways - and I feel more at peace with myself since my wife is by my side."
Upon asking about his new role as a father in an RTL interview, Nico Santos shared that he's not currently experiencing the typical sleep deprivation associated with new parents. His relaxed sleeping pattern might be due to his previous habit of getting only three to four hours of sleep per night. Additionally, Nico Santos mentioned that he enjoys the entertainment of listening to music with his baby, making it a special bonding moment for the two of them.
