- New York premiere becomes family trip
Matt Damon (53) is not just a sought-after actor and Oscar winner. He is also a proud husband, father, and son. He proved this at the premiere of his new film "The Instigators" in New York City. On the red carpet, he had not only his wife Luciana Barroso (48) but also his four daughters and his mother Nancy Carlsson-Paige (80) by his side.
Together, Damon posed with his six ladies for the photographers. His daughters Isabella (18), Gia (15), and Stella (13) are from his marriage to Barroso since 2005, and his 24-year-old daughter Alexia joined the family when they got together.
The film premiere became a family affair, as Damon plays one of the two main roles in "The Instigators," and his wife also had a significant role - behind the scenes. "She actually produced this film. She was very involved in this film, but I trust her," Damon joked to People magazine.
He got the role thanks to his wife
Indeed, Barroso persuaded her husband to join the heist comedy. "She's one of the people whose taste I completely trust - like Casey and Ben [Affleck]," Damon gushed. It's no coincidence that he mentioned the Affleck brothers. With his friend Ben Affleck (51), he rose to the ranks of Oscar winners with "Good Will Hunting." And with Ben's younger brother Casey, who won an Academy Award for "Manchester by the Sea," he now stood in front of the camera for "The Instigators."
In the film, Damon and Affleck play an unlikely duo targeting the ill-gotten wealth of a politician. The film will be shown in selected US cinemas for a short time starting August 2nd. From August 9th, it will be available to all Apple TV+ subscribers.
