"Big Brother" - New Normalo season only on Joyn
The eleventh season of "Promi Big Brother" comes to an end today, Monday - but fans of the reality classic won't have to wait long before it continues. A new edition of "Big Brother" will start in spring 2024. This time, however, it won't be with celebrities, but with normal people, as was the case when the format started in 2000. This was announced by the "Promi Big Brother" channel Sat.1.
However, the new season of "Big Brother" will not be shown on free TV, but exclusively on Joyn. The ProSieben-Sat.1 Group's streaming provider will be showing a live stream from the container around the clock this spring. There will also be daily and weekly summaries on Joyn.
Joyn subscribers can already follow the current celebrity edition live 24 hours a day. "'Promi Big Brother' is a great success both on Joyn and on Sat.1. Viewers love the program in the linear and digital world - especially the 24/7 live stream on Joyn," said Sat.1, quoting Henrik Pabst, Chief Content Officer of Seven. One Entertainment.
100 days of normal people on "Big Brother"
The residents of the new 14th "Big Brother" season will have to endure 100 days in the container. The production company EndemolShine is currently calling for auditions on its website. People aged 18 and over can apply. According to the casting call, both the "person next door" and the "weird bird" are wanted.
The last normal season of "Big Brother" ran in spring 2020. This was also preceded by a four-year break. Most recently, the celebrity versions had overtaken the original format in terms of public perception. They have been running every year without a break since 2013.
Knossi edition bridges the gap
To bridge the gap between the celebrity and normal versions, the Knossi edition is also available. Jens "Knossi" Knossala (37) will present a short version of "Big Brother" on Twitch in December. The livestreaming platform will broadcast the short edition for three days.
