New electric motorcycle offerings hailing from Canada: Can-Am Origin and Can-Am Pulse.

Lately, numerous electric motorbikes have been hinted at but never arrived on the market. However, Can-Am is moving forward with two models. They're anticipated to hit German shelves in the upcoming months, and this Canadian motorcycle manufacturer has now shared specifics about these new rides.

Hailing from Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), Can-Am has divulged details concerning its electric motorcycles, Pulse, and Origin. Both models incorporate the identical E-Power motor from Rotax, accessible in power tiers of 11 kW/15 PS or 35 kW/48 PS. The rider can select from among four driving settings: Normal, Sport, Eco, and Rain. A striking attribute of these electric motorcycles is their liquid cooling mechanism, which keeps the operating temperature suitable for the charger, inverter, motor, and battery.

The battery is relatively compact at 8.9 kWh. The Pulse barebike is predicted to boast a range of 160 kilometers in city traffic, while the enduro variant can journey 145 kilometers on a single charge. Can-Am fails to provide details regarding the supposed modest range during off-road use, suggesting that the firm eyes its electric motorcycles primarily for urban purposes. The battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 50 minutes. Handily, the Can-Am bikes offer a reverse gear for navigating tight spaces.

Both single-track electric vehicles feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen as a cockpit display, showcasing integrated Apple CarPlay for navigation and other apps. Moreover, the "BRP Go!" app permits connecting the bike to the user's smartphone.

Battery under a tank-like cover

A quick glance might lead one to assume these angular electric motorbikes resemble conventional models, as there is a tank-like cover between the seat and cockpit. Yet, the battery and electronics are housed beneath the cover. The motor is situated between this block and the rear wheel, merging to form a single unit with the single-sided swingarm. Notable characteristics encompass the rectangular headlight units with a unique LED light signature and neon yellow accents.

The motorcycles can already be customized on the German Can-Am website. The Pulse is priced from €16,900, with the enduro Origin costing €600 additional.

The electric mobility advancement by Can-Am includes two models, Pulse and Origin, both equipped with an E-Power motor from Rotax with options of 11 kW/15 PS or 35 kW/48 PS. Interestingly, the battery, despite being housed under a tank-like cover, allows for a reverse gear in tight spaces.
