"The Crown" - Netflix trailer for the latest episodes
The Netflix hit "The Crown" ends in mid-December with the last six episodes of the final season. In a new trailer, the streaming service shows that the episodes will revolve around the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and the current heir to the throne, Prince William (41).
Even monarchs must obey
As recently released images have already shown, one of the themes will be the young love of William and his future wife, Princess Kate (41). The trailer hints at how the prince initially struggles to come to terms with the death of his mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997) - and that his relationship with his father Charles (75) is apparently extremely strained. But it was at university that William met Kate.
Meanwhile, the Queen looks back on her time on the throne - and reflects on her legacy. In the trailer, the Queen asks herself: "But what about the life I gave up? With the woman I neglected when I became Queen?" The dichotomy between her service and her private life also seems to be made clear by the following sentence: "When fate calls, even monarchs must obey."
The new young stars in the cast
In the final chapter of the Netflix royal saga, viewers can expect new stars alongside familiar faces: Ed McVey plays the young William, Meg Bellamy (21) embodies Kate Middleton. Meanwhile, Luther Ford plays Prince Harry (39).
Imelda Staunton (67) can once again be seen as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce (76) as Prince Philip (1921-2021) and Dominic West (54) as the then Prince Charles. The sixth season will also focus on his marriage to Camilla (Olivia Williams, 55). Netflix will be showing the final episodes from December 14.
