"The signal" - Netflix shows series with Florian David Fitz
The streaming service Netflix continues to focus on top-class German in-house productions. The four-part mystery series "The Signal", in which star Florian David Fitz (49) plays the leading role - and also co-wrote the scripts - will be launched on March 7, 2024. Netflix subscribers can expect a gripping story about the disappearance of an astronaut without a trace.
This is what "The Signal" is about
Family man Sven (Fitz) and his daughter Charlie (Yuna Bennett) await the return of his wife from the International Space Station. The researcher and astronaut has already landed back on Earth, but on the flight back to Germany from the USA, Paula (Peri Baumeister, 37) suddenly disappears. Her plane has disappeared from the face of the earth. Charlie and Sven wait in vain at the airport gate.
While the father is still trying to protect his daughter from this terrible truth, he starts his own investigations and comes across a clue that Paula has left him. Sven follows the mysterious thread, but this increases the threat to him and his daughter. Paula has spent several months in space, and there, in the darkness of the cosmos, she may have made an incredible discovery that could change the world forever.
Behind the four-part mini-series "The Signal" are series creators Nadine Gottmann (38) and Sebastian Hilger (39). Hilger also directed the series together with Philipp Leinemann (44, "The End of Truth"). Lead actor Florian David Fitz has already distinguished himself as a screenwriter in the past. For example, he has already written the scripts for his own directorial works "Der geilste Tag" and "100 Dinge".
