Natalie Portman relies on her friends for continuous support, raising her up multiple times.
On her birthday, the actress expressed her gratitude to her friends who always support her.
"During my birthday celebration, I want to thank my friends who keep lifting me up," she wrote on Instagram, alongside a slideshow of pictures featuring her with her close friends.
The heartfelt message was shared just a few months after she reportedly finalized her divorce from choreographer Benjamin Millepied. The couple married in 2012, shortly after meeting on set during the filming of "Black Swan," in which Millepied served as the choreographer. Portman played a ballerina opposite Mila Kunis in the movie.
Portman made a clever joke about her ex-husband during her acceptance speech when she won the Golden Globe for best actress for her performance in "Black Swan."
"Benjamin choreographed the film, and you might remember him in the movie as the guy when they ask, 'Would you sleep with that girl?' And he's like, 'Pffsh, no,'" she said at the time, while pregnant with their first child. "He's the best actor. It's not true: He totally wants to sleep with me!"
Both Portman and Millepied are typically private about their personal lives, which includes their family life with their son, Aleph (12), and daughter, Amalia (7).
