Jamie Foxx - Mysterious illness began with a headache
Hollywood star Jamie Foxx (56) shares more details about the mysterious illness that landed him in the hospital in April 2023. In a video shared by "The Art of the Dialogue" on X (formerly Twitter), Foxx spoke to a group of people gathered around him at a street cafe in Phoenix about the early signs of his health issues.
"I don't remember anything"
He recalled having "terrible headaches," Foxx told the crowd. That was the last thing he could remember. He gestured with his fingers and explained, "I was gone for 20 days. I don't remember anything."
In the hospital, they told him he was in Atlanta and that his sister and daughter had brought him to the doctor. "They gave me a cortisone shot," he told the woman next to him. "The next doctor said something was going on up there," he added, pointing to his head. He didn't want to reveal exactly what it was "on camera," causing the audience to laugh. "But it was..." he began, then shrugged his shoulders, and the video ended.
The Oscar winner had previously spoken about how his sister Deidra saved his life during his health crisis. He shared an Instagram post that read, "Without you, I wouldn't be here... You made the decisions that you made, and I would have lost my life."
Back in the spotlight
Since then, the actor has returned to his professional life. He's working on several films, including "Tin Soldier" and "Not Another Church Movie," and he's back hosting the game show "Beat Shazam." He had to take a break during the sixth season due to his health issues. Additionally, he's announced plans to process his difficult time through a stand-up comedy program.
No details about the medical emergency Jamie Foxx experienced in April 2023 have been released. "I didn't want you to see me with tubes coming out of me - and for you to ask if I was going to make it," he returned to Instagram three months later in a video. He had been "through hell" in the past few weeks.
Jamie Foxx mentioned his ongoing struggle with persistent headaches during his hospital stay in Atlanta, which he shared on Instagram. Deidra Dixon, his sister, played a crucial role in his recovery, as Foxx acknowledged in one of his posts. Despite his health setback, Foxx has returned to host "Beat Shazam" and is working on new film projects like "Tin Soldier" and "Not Another Church Movie." On Twitter, actress Deidra Dixon's character, Dice, from the show "Beat Shazam," expressed her support for Jamie Foxx's recovery.
