Music icon Bruce Springsteen backs Kamala Harris' presidential bid.
In a recent post shared on his Instagram account on Thursday, Springsteen expressed his support for Harris in the upcoming election, labeling it as "one of the most significant elections in our country's history."
"Kamala Harris and Tim Walz share a vision for this nation that acknowledges and embraces everyone, irrespective of social class, religion, ethnicity, political stance or sexual orientation," the renowned Grammy awardee added in the clip. "This is the America I've been writing about consistently for the past 55 years."
Other renowned figures in the music industry who have openly endorsed Harris include Taylor Swift, Carole King and Chappell Roan.
Springsteen, a generous benefactor to the Democratic Party, lent his voice to a 2020 campaign advertisement for Joe Biden. He's been vocally critical of former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, in the past. In 2017, he was featured in a protest song titled "That’s What Makes Us Great" by Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers. He also co-hosted a podcast with former President Barack Obama.
"Perhaps not since the Civil War has our great nation felt as politically, spiritually and emotionally divided as it does now," Springsteen stated in his recent Instagram post, adding that "it does not have to remain this way." "The common values and shared tales that define us as a powerful and united nation are waiting to be rediscovered and reincarnated once more."
Springsteen's Instagram post encourages people to rediscover the common values that define America, providing an opportunity for entertainment and reflection on our nation's unity. The endorsement of Kamala Harris by prominent musicians like Springsteen adds diversity to the entertainment industry's political involvement.
