Possible family drama - Multiple deaths due to shootings in Baden-Württemberg - the perpetrator among the dead as well
At a large-scale operation in Albstadt on the Swabian Alb, police found three deceased individuals and two injured. One of the deceased was reportedly the suspected perpetrator, according to a police spokesperson. The injured were two women who had been severely taken to a hospital. This was not reported to be a rampage. The investigators are leaning more towards an intra-family crime. Previously, media reported.
The police were reportedly notified of shots on a Sunday afternoon. After that, they went to Lautlingen – a neighborhood of Albstadt with 1,800 inhabitants – with a large contingent. There, the deceased and injured were found. A special operations team was also deployed. There was no danger to the population, it was stated.

The large-scale operation took place in a residential area. The Police have sealed off the scene of the crime extensively. In the operation were reportedly 30 to 40 police patrol cars, police special forces, and dozens of ambulances. Police officers were wearing helmets and vests. Several helicopters from the police and rescue services were circling over the area.
The spokesperson could not provide further details on Sunday evening, as the investigation was still ongoing. Reports from "Bild" and SWR suggest that the shooting was allegedly committed by a hunter.
Albstadt is a small town in the Zollernalbkreis with approximately 46,000 inhabitants. The city is located between Stuttgart and the Bodensee.
