Bob Newhart is deceased. The actor and comedian spoke of his passing on Thursday (18. July) at the age of 94, according to his representative confirmed to US magazine "People". Newhart passed away in his Los Angeles home "after a series of brief illnesses". Born in 1929 in Oak Park, Illinois, the actor was best known for his sitcom "The Bob Newhart Show" and numerous television roles. On "The Big Bang Theory" and its spin-off "Young Sheldon", he portrayed the role of Professor Proton. In 2013, he received an Emmy for his guest role on "The Big Bang Theory". After his death, his "TBBT" co-stars paid tribute to him on Instagram.
"A true comedy legend"
Johnny Galecki (49) wrote about shared photos with Newhart: "In one of his last emails to me, Bob asked that I stop telling people he was a 'nice guy'. Although I hate defying a hero, I must say that Bob was an amazing man and I greatly enjoyed the time I spent with him. Farewell, my friend."
To an old black-and-white photo of the actor, Mayim Bialik (48) explained: "As a child, I spent countless hours with the 'Bob Newhart Show' - it was one of my earliest educations in the art of sitcoms. ...
