Motsi Mabuse has been winning the hearts of fans as a judge on "Let's Dance" for many years. But the 42-year-old is not only a star in Germany. She has had a very similar role on the British TV dance show "Strictly Come Dancing" since 2019.
Through this role, Mabuse has now even had the royal pleasure of meeting Princess Kate and her children in person. The royals are big fans of Strictly Come Dancing. Mabuse has now revealed how her secret meeting with Prince William's wife went in the BBC studios on ZDF.
"Last week I was able to meet the family. They came to the studio in secret. That was a huge thing. They are big fans," said Mabuse. Princess Kate and the children George (10), Charlotte (8) and Luis (5) told her: "On Saturday, our TV is on and we watch 'Strictly Come Dancing'." They all laughed.
"Smile on their lips"
Meanwhile, an alleged insider told the British newspaper "The Sun": "Kate took photos of the children in the judges' seats. She seemed very relaxed and always had a smile on her face." She was very charming and polite. All three children showed their best side.
Motsi Mabuse was born in South Africa. As a professional dancer at the time, she came to Germany at the age of 18. After appearing as a dancer in the second and third seasons of "Let's Dance", which aired in 2007 and 2010 respectively, she joined the jury of the RTL show(also available on RTL+) in 2011. Since then, it has been hard to imagine the show without her in this role.
Motsi Mabuse's sister Otlile, known as "Oti", is also a dancer. She not only took part in "Let's Dance" in 2015 and 2016, but was also a member of the professional team on "Strictly Come Dancing" between 2015 and 2021. This closes the circle between the German and British dance show.
