Award ceremony - Monica Bellucci receives "Globo d'Oro" for lifetime achievement
The Italian actress Monica Bellucci has been awarded the "Globo d'Oro" film prize by the Italian foreign press. The 59-year-old accepted the award in Rome. Bellucci had received her first "Globo d'Oro" in 1998 as best leading actress for her role in the film "The Temptation of the Bergamasca Nights". Later, she made an international career, among other things, with roles in "Matrix" and as Bond girl in "Spectre".
At the awards ceremony, the Italian actress was accompanied by US director Tim Burton ("Beetlejuice", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"). She has been in a relationship with him for some time. The award for best film went to Italian director Paola Cortellesi for "C'è ancora domani" ("Tomorrow I'll Be Fine"). The Neapolitan documentary "Ode to Naples" by Trudie Styler was awarded as best documentary.
The "Globo d'Oro" (Golden Globe) is annually awarded by the Italian foreign press association. It is now in its 64th edition. The ceremony took place at the German Academy Villa Massimo.
