Military reinforcements are dispatched by Ukraine to the northeastern region.
Following the progression of Russian forces towards the Kharkiv region, Ukraine has moved extra troops to the northeastern parts of their country. As stated by the spokesperson for President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Facebook, "further troops are being sent, reserves are awaiting." Zelensky had earlier been apprised of the ongoing events by military chief Oleksandr Syrsky.
Ukraine finds itself under heightened strain in the Kharkiv area due to a Russian offensive. Throughout Wednesday night, the military reported the retreat of their men from two villages. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that the conditions in the region remained "challenging."
In response to this, Zelensky abolished all scheduled foreign trips for the following days. The president issued a request for "all international events arranged for the upcoming days to be postponed and new dates decided," according to Facebook.
