Miley Cyrus has a complex bond with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and maintains infrequent connections with well-known people.

The entertainer Miley Cyrus shares details about her personal life during a chat with David Letterman on his show "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction."

It's reported that her connection with her father, musician Billy Ray Cyrus, is strained. On the program, she was questioned if Billy Ray Cyrus is her inspiration.

She acknowledged, "Honestly, my mother is my hero."

Her mother, Tish Cyrus, sought divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus in 2022, bringing their 28 years of marriage to an end. Just months ago, Billy Ray Cyrus called it quits with his new wife, vocalist Firerose, whom he had only married for a short time.

Miley Cyrus nonetheless said some positive things about her father, referring to how they starred together on the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" from 2006 to 2011.

She emphasized, "I'm thankful that I was able to observe him ahead of me. He's shown me a path."

Her parents have played an instrumental role, she noted.

"My parents, they dedicate their lives to us kids, and I know this," Cyrus said. "My parents served us and made our dreams come true."

She added that she's not particularly close to numerous other stars.

"I'm not an active participant in the community of other artists and celebrities," she confessed. "When I'm surrounded by them, it doesn't feel like I belong."

Yet, she has an association with Beyoncé. They recently collaborated on the song "II Most Wanted" for Beyoncé's latest release "Act II: Cowboy Carter."

She reminisced about being a teen in 2008 and joining forces with Beyoncé and several other artists for the charity single "Just Stand Up!" at the Stand Up to Cancer telethon.

"I was tiny, had acne, and braces at the back of my teeth, and I was next to Mariah Carey, who was clad in diamonds," Cyrus recalled. "Beyoncé was so kind to me."
