Merz states that our nation holds immense possibilities.
Friedrich Merz, leader of the CDU, criticized the economic policies of the traffic light coalition. At a celebration for the 75th anniversary of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions, he mentioned untapped potential in the country and spoke of a structural crisis.
He mentioned that the reforms of Agenda 2010 paved the way for a decade of growth and now it's time for Agenda 2030, which should have less regulation. Merz expressed that Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens), an author, and himself, a lawyer, are both unfamiliar with technology. However, he believes creating the right environment for businesses is crucial.
Merz accused Habeck of micro-managing to help large companies adapt to a more ecological economy. For example, in the steel industry and electromobility.
