- Melanie Müller penalized for performing a Nazi salute.

Singer Melanie Müller (36) has been found guilty and slapped with a fine of €80,000 for flaunting the infamous Nazi salute at a concert in September 2022. Judge Lucas Findeisen of the Leipzig Local Court handed down the ruling, declaring that Müller's actions were a blatant display of a symbol associated with unlawful and extreme organizations. To add to her woes, the court also convicted her for possession of illegal substances. The total penalty consisted of 160 daily fines of €500 each, equating to €80,000.

The original charges alleged that Müller, formerly crowned queen of RTL jungle camp, repeatedly made the Hitler salute during her performance. The court's decision surpassed the prosecution's proposed penalty of 95 daily fines, each worth €60. However, Müller's defense team had fervently argued for her acquittal, contending that she was innocent of both charges. The final verdict is still pending.

In the initial charges against her, Melanie Müller was accused of repeatedly performing the controversial and symbolic Hitler salute during her concert performance. Despite her defense team arguing for her acquittal, the court upheld her guilty verdict for both charges, including the use of the infamous Hitler salute.
