Melanie Müller is required to shell out a substantial penalty.

The court case against ex-jungle queen Melanie Müller, charged with displaying the Nazi salute on stage, lingered on. However, the actual trial only lasted a brief three days. The verdict is out now, and it's not a light one.

The allegations stemmed from an incident that took place nearly two years prior: During a concert in September 2022, Müller was reportedly seen giving the Nazi salute repeatedly. The trial against the 36-year-old dragged on, but was primarily handled for only three days. The Leipzig district court has now delivered its judgment: Müller is required to pay a fine of 160 daily installments of 500 euros each, amounting to a total of 80,000 euros.

Müller made an unexpected court appearance that morning, which wasn't initially expected by the judge. The defense's pleas were still to be addressed before the verdict was read out.

The prosecution accused Müller of using symbols associated with unconstitutional and terrorist organizations by performing the Nazis' salute. Furthermore, drug-related charges were involved. A search of Müller's Leipzig apartment uncovered 0.69 grams of cocaine mixture and an ecstasy tablet. At the trial's inception, Müller vehemently denied all accusations.

From Porn Star to TV Celebrity

Müller hails from the Saxon town of Oschatz. She worked as an adult film actress under the alias "Scarlet Young" before gaining recognition as a competitor in the third season of RTL's "The Bachelor" in 2013.

In 2014, she participated in the eighth season of "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" and emerged victorious. Post-show, the jungle queen became a frequent guest on various TV programs, such as "Promi Big Brother" in 2021, where she too won the title. As a pop singer, Müller also entertains audiences on Mallorca.

After the verdict was announced, Melanie Müller's legal team planned to appeal the judgement, hoping to reduce the hefty fine. Despite her television fame, the controversy surrounding the Nazi salute incident proved damaging to her public image.

In her downtime, Melanie Müller often turns to her favorite pastime – watching television shows, including reality competitions she once participated in.
