Melanie Müller is allegedly "unfit to travel"
Mallorca-Singer and Reality-Star Melanie Müller cancels a hearing at the Leipzig District Court due to health reasons. However, she performed the night before at a club in Mallorca. Now, the 36-year-old claims to be "travel-unfit" due to various illnesses.
After the sudden cancellation of her trial due to health reasons regarding Hitler salute allegations, singer Melanie Müller spoke about the background to RTL. "I am not incompetent to negotiate, but simply travel-unfit," said the 36-year-old to the TV station. Her doctor advised her not to fly due to various illnesses, as she could have had problems with pressure equalization in the aircraft.
She had suffered a stroke in the balance organ of her right ear several months ago. "That still bothers me a little, and I've been slightly ill for several weeks," said Müller.
Trial postponed again
The trial at the Leipzig District Court against Müller was supposed to begin. She had reported sick. According to an RTL report, the singer was seen at a club in Mallorca on the Monday evening - the evening before the scheduled trial date. "The court knows which illness she has and has therefore excused her," said Stefan Blaschke, press spokesman for the court, to the TV station.
Müller is charged with using symbols of unconstitutional organizations. She is accused of showing the Hitler salute towards the audience several times from the stage at an event in Leipzig in September 2022. In addition, there is a charge of drug possession. Müller is said to have had 0.69 grams of cocaine residue and an Ecstasy tablet in her Leipzig apartment according to the indictment.
Müller rejected the accusations and any proximity to "right-wing radicals or nationalist thought patterns." The controversial gesture was a movement to heat up the audience, she emphasized. For the singer, the presumption of innocence applies until a legally binding conviction.
Despite the ongoing health issues and advice from her doctor, Melanie Müller chose to engage in entertainment, performing at a club in Mallorca the night before her scheduled court hearing. However, concerns about right-wing extremism continued to persist, as Müller faces charges of using symbols of unconstitutional organizations and drug possession, with traces of cocaine and an Ecstasy tablet found in her Leipzig apartment.
