Taylor Swift - Mega-donation for tornado victims in Tennessee

Taylor Swift (33) opens her pockets for the victims of the tornadoes in Tennessee. The superstar is donating one million dollars to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. This was confirmed by its chairman to "USA Today".

Several storms have raged in the US state in recent days. At least six people died in the storms in the capital Nashville and in nearby Clarksville. Other people were hospitalized with injuries. Houses were damaged in both cities and 80,000 people are said to be without power at the moment.

"Nashville is my home"

Taylor Swift has close ties to Tennessee. Although she was born in the state of Pennsylvania, she moved with her family to Hendersonville in the southern state when she was a teenager, where she attended high school. Here she was closer to Nashville, the center of country music in the USA. Swift took her first steps as a singer and songwriter in this genre as a teenager.

Back in 2020, Taylor Swift donated one million dollars to victims of deadly tornadoes in Tennessee. "Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people in Middle Tennessee have lost their homes and so much more is devastating to me," the singer wrote on Instagram at the time.

Generous billionaire

Taylor Swift is not only generous when it comes to emergency aid after natural disasters. During her current, record-breaking "Eras" tour, she financially supported local initiatives in many of the cities she played in. For example, she donated to food banks and other food aid organizations in Arizona and California. The newly minted billionaire also paid her tour staff a hefty bonus totaling 55 million dollars.
