Actress Rebel Wilson revamps headline. - Meeting her fiancé's parents is not an option.
Rebel Wilson, 44, has been in a relationship with Ramona Agruma, 40, for two years. They've now taken their love to the next level by getting engaged and even starting a family together. However, Wilson's daughter, Royce, has yet to meet her grandparents as Agruma's parents are still struggling to accept their daughter's same-sex relationship.
Wilson explained in an interview with Today.com that Agruma's parents are from Latvia, a nation known for not being as LGBTQ+-friendly as others. "I think some people just need more time - and some will never be able to accept it, and that's okay, it's their decision," the actress stated.
The first meeting with her future in-laws is set to happen soon since the family is planning a trip to Europe in a few weeks. Wilson is excited about meeting them, as she has heard great things about their intelligence. In fact, Ramona's mother is a doctor.
Forced to go public due to threats from the press
The "Pitch Perfect" star and the designer made their relationship official in June 2022 by sharing a photo on Instagram. Unfortunately, they had to come out earlier than planned due to a reporter in Australia threatening to reveal their relationship publicly.
"Some people in Ramona's family didn't know and found out through the press," Wilson revealed. Although this was not ideal, she was grateful that her own family members didn't face any backlash from their announcement.
Daughter Royce serves as the "icebreaker"
The main reason for the upcoming meeting between Wilson and Agruma's parents is their one-year-old daughter Royce. The little one has been digitally meeting her potential grandparents through video chats.
Royce was welcomed into the world with the help of a surrogate mother in November 2022. Four months later, Wilson and Agruma became engaged at Disneyland.
