Did Matthew McConaughey have to put on a suit of punches? His right eye is completely swollen in a new photo. Exactly how this happened, the actor is not revealing. Room for speculation then.
In 2005, McConaughey was named "Sexiest Man Alive" by the US magazine "People," but not much of that remains on his latest Instagram post, at least for now. The Hollywood star is battling the consequences of a bee sting. This is evident in a recent photo where he is smiling, but his right eye is completely swollen. "Bee swelling," he writes in the post, hinting at the fact that he lost the fight against the insect.
Numerous fans and followers commented on the post and wished the actor a quick recovery. While some users were genuinely concerned about the Hollywood star's health, others made jokes about it. Inevitably, references to his catchphrase "Alright, alright, alright" ("All right then") could not be missing, which has long become a trademark of the 54-year-old. "Is everything all right, all right, all right?" asked a fan jokingly. "That looks like the first rule of 'Fight Club'," quipped another.

That McConaughey does not go into detail in the post about how it came to the sting at such a critical point gives room for speculation about a fight between McConaughey and his "brother" Woody Harrelson. A user joked about the possibility that McConaughey had been falsely accused by his acting colleague and friend: "How hard did Woody H. hit you, man?" he wrote under the picture.
Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have been friends for many years. They met during the filming of "EDtv" in 1997. During an appearance on Kelly Ripas podcast "Let's Talk Off Camera" in April 2023, McConaughey revealed that their bond and resemblance are so close that even their families get confused: "People see pictures of us and my family thinks many pictures of him are of me. His family thinks many pictures of me are of him."
Apparently, there is a long-standing connection between the families: During a family vacation, McConaughey's mother once said to Harrelson, "Woody, I knew your father!" She emphasized the word "knew" strangely, which surprised everyone present. They then calculated and McConaughey continued: A liaison between his mother and Harrelson's father - the late, convicted hitman Charles Harrelson - was therefore at least theoretically possible. "We'll find out," Woody Harrelson later said during an appearance on US talk show host Stephen Colbert's TV show.
