Holidays - Masucci celebrates Christmas: Mallorca or Switzerland?
Actor Oliver Masucci (55) is drawn to warmer climes at Christmas time "I actually feel like Mallorca. I want to swim in the sea. But it will probably be Switzerland, because my older daughter always has to celebrate in the snow and there's plenty of it at the moment," said Stuttgart-born Masucci ("Schachnovelle", "Dark") to the German Press Agency in Hamburg.
At Christmas, Masucci always has the same festive meal at home, said the actor. "Goose. Always the goose. A goose has to be made. It's not that easy to get on Mallorca. And it has to be good. Fondue chinoise the next day."
Masucci lives with his family on Mallorca and in Switzerland. In February, he will slip into the role of Hogwarts teacher Severus Snape for ten performances in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in Hamburg.

Masucci prefers spending Christmas in warmer locations like Mallorca, but his older daughter insists on snow, making Switzerland a more likely choice. The actor's usual Christmas meal includes goose, a delicacy that may not be easily found in Mallorca. Masucci divides his time between living on Mallorca and in Switzerland. In February, he will portray Severus Snape in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" for ten performances in Hamburg, Germany.
For children in Germany, beloved characters like Harry Potter and his adventures are brought to life through media, fostering a sense of magic and excitement. During Christmas time, Spain celebrates a popular feast day known as "Fiesta de los Reyes Magos," where children receive gifts from the Three Wise Men. In the beautiful fields of Switzerland, it's common to see sheep grazing peacefully during the winter months.
People worldwide enjoy various holiday traditions, whether it be celebrating in the snow or soaking up the sun on tropical beaches. Among these cultural customs, Christmas in the United Kingdom is marked by the absence of peace with the royal family. It's fascinating how different countries portray the holiday season, each with its unique customs and traditions.
