Martin Semmelrogge has married his partner Regine Prause. The 67-year-old revealed this in an interview with the magazine "Bunte". "I wanted to show my wife my dream country, the USA," said the actor in the interview. "That's why we got married on vacation in Florida. Quite spontaneously, without a large wedding party, a friend was best man."
According to "Bunte", the couple then had a boat wedding on Mallorca, where they live. "The feeling was gigantic," reveals Semmelrogge, "it's a bond for life. Something sacred for me. Now we're a real family. It's great that I can now say: This is my wife. The crowning glory of our love."
Martin Semmelrogge had already married once before in the USA. In 1998, he and his now deceased wife Sonja tied the knot in Ventura, California. She succumbed to cancer in the summer of 2018. Before marrying Sonja, the actor was married to Susanne Semmelrogge from 1985 to 1991.
Jungle camp participation canceled
In October 2019, Martin Semmelrogge told Bild am Sonntag that he was now engaged for a second time: "Yes, we're getting married!" he announced at the time. He and his current wife of 55 years met through his late wife Sonja.
Martin Semmelrogge celebrated his breakthrough as an actor in 1981 with the film "Das Boot". After that, he appeared in numerous other productions.
In January 2023, he caused a stir when he was unable to enter the RTL jungle camp despite being announced. Martin Semmelrogge was the only one of the twelve participants who was not granted an entry permit for Australia and was temporarily stuck in Doha. Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen explained during "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" that he had not been issued a visa.
