Luna Schweiger talks about accusations against father Til
Actor and director Til Schweiger is confronted with accusations of behaving derogatorily towards employees during film shoots. It was not until months later that he gave a remorseful interview. Now his daughter Luna has spoken out about the allegations for the first time.
Actress Luna Schweiger has spoken openly for the first time about the stressful situation in connection with the negative reporting about her father Til Schweiger. In an interview with the broadcaster RTL in Dubai, the 26-year-old revealed that it had left its mark on her: "It's very stressful because it's also very one-sided."
In her eyes, there are always two sides to a story. She knows "a completely different, positive side" of her father, of course. "He really apologized sincerely," Luna Schweiger continues. She is "incredibly proud", but she is "always proud anyway": "And I will continue to be proud of him."
After numerous rumors and headlines, Til Schweiger himself commented on the allegations for the first time in an interview with "Stern" magazine at the end of October: "I've thought a lot. I've talked a lot with friends. And I've started therapy." After employees on the film set of "Manta Manta - Zwoter Teil" reproached him, the filmmaker and actor said he didn't want anyone to be afraid of him. The accusation that he was a bully hit him hard: "Nobody needs to be afraid of me. I am a friendly person." However, friends had already told him in the past that he could be scary: "I'm working on myself. I'm a person who makes mistakes. I'm not perfect."
Til: "I've been putting this topic off"
There was also a situation where he wasn't himself due to his alcohol consumption. He was already drinking more during production than before: "I think it was a gradual process." Over the years, there have been many conversations with friends and family about alcohol, says Schweiger: "They were worried that I was drinking too much. I never denied it. But I told them all: 'I want to grow old. Don't worry about it. I'll still deal with it'. Today I know: I always put this topic off."
It gradually became more and more, and then he lost control. After that, he was "always incredibly ashamed". Schweiger said that he had now learned in therapy that he could no longer lose control. "I will soon be 60. I don't want to waste any more time now, I want to become a better person."
Luna Schweiger expressed her support for her father Til during the ordeal, mentioning that she's proud of his sincere apology in the face of the movie-related allegations. In the world of entertainment, Til Schweiger is not only known for his acting but also for directing movies.
