"Love Island" receives a posh makeover
In recent times, Sylvie Meis has been in charge of hosting the RTLZWEI dating show "Love Island". Her next task in the realm of matchmaking is hosting the VIP edition of the format, where famous individuals will gather in Greece.
RTLZWEI is all set to showcase the TV dating genre's neat addition this year. Their lineup has "Love Island VIP", scheduled for 2024. A statement boasts that it's going to be "more dazzling than ever" as the "VIP" hints - this time, renowned personalities will be roaming a luxurious villa in Greece, ready to find their ideal date or even true love. Moderating their journey will be Sylvie Meis.
Sylvie Meis shows immense excitement about being in her fourth year of working on "Love Island" and claims it's as exhilarating as the first day. She looks forward to having a barrel of fun in the sunshine of Greece alongside VIPs, witnessing surprising flirts and enthralling pairing ceremonies.
Possibility of old acquaintances reconnecting
The broadcaster teases that some celebrities joining "Love Island VIP" might be familiar with each other - even sharing a past relationship. "Perhaps there were even a few scandals involving these VIP singles?", they ask intriguingly in an Instagram post.
The broadcasting company hasn't disclosed the specific number or names of the celebrities who will dwell in Greece. The air date remains under wraps too. However, it's certain that the episodes of "Love Island VIP" will be streaming on RTLZWEI every week, with the option of online streaming on RTL.
"Love Island" winning couples have varied lengths of relationships, from a few months to years. The couple from the third season, Samira and Yasin Cilingir, found eternal love. They welcomed a child in December 2020 and walked down the aisle in February 2021. In spite of their participation in "Summer House of Stars" in the same year, their partnership endured - they even became parents again in June 2023. This season, Melina Koch and Tim Kühnel, held hands in "Prominent getrennt", winning the prize money.
