Loredana and Beatrice Egli become DSDS judges: The juries over time

"Germany is looking for the superstar" - Loredana and Beatrice Egli become DSDS judges: The juries over time

This spring saw the 20th season of the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". It was supposed to end after this anniversary, but things turned out differently: during the live shows, juror Dieter Bohlen announced that there would be a 21st DSDS season. Stern met Bohlen for an interview at the beginning of the year. Even then he said: "I believe that the viewers will ultimately decide. My gut feeling tells me that it won't be the last season. I can't imagine that. But nothing has been decided yet." He was proved right. Alongside Bohlen, Pietro Lombardi will once again be judging the talents.

In addition, broadcaster RTL has now announced that pop singer Beatrice Egli and rapper Loredana will be part of the jury. Egli has a special relationship with DSDS: she won the tenth season of the show in 2013 and launched her career afterwards. "I am also taking my place in the jury chair to show my respect and gratitude to the entire team behind the scenes, Dieter and, above all, the DSDS audience. The show is and will always be the start of my career. It's like coming home," says Egli.

In addition to the new jury, there will be another change for the coming season - the age limit has been removed. Candidates aged 16 and over can take part, with no upper age limit. This rule only existed in the 14th season in 2017, when Alphonso Williams, a 54-year-old singer, won.

Beatrice Egli, who won the tenth season of DSDS in 2013, will join Loredana as new jury members for the 21st season of the RTL casting show. In the past, Pietro Lombardi and Dieter Bohlen have also been part of the jury. After announcing that they thought the 20th season would be the last, both Bohlen and the show's audience ultimately decided that there should be a 21st season.
