Long-standing host Pat Sajak hands over 'Wheel of Fortune' duties to Ryan Seacrest.

Longtime game show host Pat Sajak has passed the torch to Seacrest, who'll take over in upcoming episodes this fall. On June 7, Sajak wrapped up his tenure spanning over four decades, sharing with Seacrest what he'll relish about the gig.

"I believe you'll enjoy it most by connecting with the contestants and understanding the fans at home," Sajak shared with Seacrest. "People adore this show. They visit us daily and spend half an hour with us while watching together as a family."

He went on to express, "You won't find a better job, and you won't find a better partner either," he said, speaking about his co-host, the legendary Vanna White.

White will continue with the show for another two years.

"It's been an astounding honor to enter countless homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade, and I've always felt that this daily half-hour duty came with an obligation to preserve this playful space as a safe haven for family, fun, repeated crises avoided (hopefully), nothing scandalous or awkward, just a game," Sajak said in his farewell.
