Their first common son was born in January 2023 six weeks prematurely.
The risk that their second son might also come before the 34th week of pregnancy is simply too high, according to Rypa. Therefore, she has to stay in the hospital and receives labor-inhibiting medication. Before the 34th week of pregnancy, the child's lungs are not yet fully developed, so their doctors want to postpone the birth as long as possible.
The length of time she will have to stay in the hospital is still unclear, Rypa explains: "It all came so unexpectedly, the pregnancy had been problem-free and beautiful up until now." In another Instagram story, she writes that what matters most to her is her health and she is "incredibly happy and grateful" that her partner Pietro Lombardi and her family "provide such great support."

The risk of another premature birth is there." A funneling is supposed to become visible only towards the end of pregnancy when the inner cervix opens.
Laura Maria Rypa and Pietro Lombardi have been together since 2020. They got engaged in 2022. Pietro Lombardi has an eight-year-old son, Alessio, with his ex-wife Sarah Engels.
