Lindsay Lohan films a new "Freaky Friday" movie installment.

Disney's "Freaky Friday" made a huge impact at the box office in 2003. Over two decades later, the hilarious trials of the Coleman family carry on. The main actors, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, are once again sharing the screen in "Freaky Friday 2". On Monday, The Walt Disney Studio revealed that "The Colemans are back and they're hitting theaters in 2025". Along with a picture of Lohan and Curtis on set, the studio captioned the Instagram post, "Filming for the Freaky Friday sequel is currently underway". At first, the content details were sparse.

In the 2003 Disney comedy, Curtis portrayed Tess Coleman, always butting heads with her teenager daughter Anna (Lohan). After consuming some magical fortune cookies, they ended up swapping bodies and had to figure out how to handle each other's lives - the mother at school, and the daughter as a therapist.

"Freaky Friday" is based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name. Nisha Ganatra ("Late Night") is directing the sequel. Cast members like Lohan, Curtis, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, and Rosalind Chao are reuniting from the initial cast.

Curtis bagged an Oscar in 2023 for her supporting role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once". Lohan started her film career as a child in movies like "The Parent Trap" and rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like "Freaky Friday" and "The Cool Girls". Most recently, she appeared in the Netflix comedy "Irish Wish".
