Linda Evangelista no longer wants to sleep with anyone
Ever since she made the consequences of a botched beauty treatment public two years ago, many have shared in Linda Evangelista's tragic fate. After all, she is still battling cancer. But the ex-supermodel clearly wants to cope with life on her own.
Once divorced and 58 years old, supermodel Linda Evangelista seems to have no interest in finding a new love. In an interview with the "Sunday Times", she makes it clear that she is "not interested". The reason: "I don't want to sleep with anyone anymore. I don't want to hear anyone breathe."
The Canadian, who was married to former model agency boss Gérald Marie from 1987 to 1993, explains that she can barely remember her last acquaintance. "Definitely before Cool Sculpting," she reports.
As a reminder, cool-sculpting is a beauty treatment for fatty tissue that Evangelista underwent in 2015 and 2016. However, she experienced serious complications at the time, as she reported on her Instagram page. Instead of a decrease, the treatment caused an increase in fat cells: "I was brutally disfigured."
No more looking in the mirror
In an interview with the Sunday Times, she also explains that she no longer looks at herself in the mirror. "My son sometimes says to me: 'You should probably know that you have a pimple on your chin. I then say: 'Oh what?' But life is better without a mirror." Today it only bothers her a little what people think of her, "but it used to bother me a lot."
She no longer "blames herself" for the botched beauty procedure, says Evangelista. "I'm no longer hard on myself. (...) I know now that I didn't do anything wrong. For a long time, I thought I had done it." Now she is working on "getting rid of guilt and shame completely".
Linda Evangelista's ordeal is a long one. In September 2023, she revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that she had been battling breast cancer for five years. It returned again last year. Her prognosis is "good", but not "very good". She now tells the Sunday Times that her biggest goal at the moment is therefore to "stay alive".
Nickname "Chameleon"
Linda Evangelista was one of the absolute top models in the 80s and 90s. She was considered the muse of Chanel head designer Karl Lagerfeld and was nicknamed the "chameleon" because of her great versatility.
Following her marriage, Evangelista is known to have had relationships with actor Kyle MacLachlan and former French national soccer goalkeeper Fabien Barthez. Evangelista suffered a miscarriage with Barthez, from whom she separated for good in 2002. In 2006, she gave birth to a son without initially revealing the father's name. However, it is now known that the French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, who is now married to actress Salma Hayek, is the father.
