Singer before court - Lawyer: Justin Timberlake was not drunk

Justin Timberlake's Attorney is making efforts to have the charge against the Popstar for drunk driving dismissed. The singer was not drunk and should not have been arrested, according to a statement from his attorney Edward Burke, which was obtained by the German Press Agency. The police made a mistake. Burke is confident that this procedure will be dropped, he said.

The attorney appeared in court on Friday (local time) in Sag Harbor on Long Island (US State New York). Timberlake is currently on Europe Tour. The singer is expected to participate virtually at the next court hearing on August 2nd.

Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, about 150 kilometers east of the million-metropolis New York, in mid-June for drunk driving. According to a police report, he allegedly ran over a stop sign and was stopped by a patrol. After spending a night in jail, Timberlake was released on bail to appear in court.

The police-released so-called "mug shot", the police photo of the serious-looking world star in custody, went viral on the internet. An officer stated in a court document that Timberlake's breath smelled strongly of alcohol. The pop singer was unsteady on his feet.

The 43-year-old, who is married to actress Jessica Biel and has two children, is currently touring with a new album. As part of his ongoing "Forget Tomorrow" World Tour, concerts in Krakow (Poland) are currently taking place, and the multiple Grammy winner ("Cry Me a River", "What Goes Around... Comes Around") is scheduled to perform in Berlin next week. In August and September, concerts in Munich, Cologne and Hamburg are planned.

  1. Despite the viral spread of Justin Timberlake's "mug shot" following his drunk driving arrest, his attorney maintains that there was no intoxication.
  2. The police error in arresting Justin Timberlake for drunk driving is being challenged in a New York court by his legal representative.
  3. The Germany-based German Press Agency reported on the court proceedings relating to the drunk driving charge against the renowned musician Justin Timberlake.
  4. The police in Los Angeles, a famous city in the United States of America, have not been involved in this case of alleged drunk driving by the pop star.
  5. The taste of alcohol on Timberlake's breath and his unsteady movements were noted by the police, but these factors may not be sufficient evidence of criminality.
  6. Justin Timberlake's tour schedule includes performances in several European cities, such as Berlin and Krakow, but his focus remains on securing justice in the face of accusations of drunk driving.
